Botanicals
My love of the outdoors provides plenty of opportunities for exploring plant life. I enjoy perusing botanical gardens, which to me are “nature’s reduction”. They allow me to practice “seeing deeply”.
Whether it’s V-shaped lines, patterns that could be blueprints for urban planning, or animal faces in tree bark; when I slow down, I start seeing things previously hidden in plain sight.
Sometimes I add motion in order to achieve a higher level of abstraction.
The photos in “Botanicals” were shot in many different places: MA, ME, UT, CA, Italy, Germany, and Hong Kong.
